Saraswati
Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, wisdom, learning, arts, music, and eloquence. She is part of the holy trinity of Hindu goddesses known as Tridevi, alongside Durga (Parvati) and Lakshmi.

In Hindu belief, Saraswati represents the power of creative intelligence and spiritual wisdom, guiding people toward enlightenment through education, art, and sacred knowledge.

Characteristics of Saraswati:
Depicted as a beautiful goddess dressed in white, symbolizing purity and wisdom

Often shown seated on a lotus flower, representing supreme knowledge

Holds a veena (a traditional stringed musical instrument), symbolizing mastery over arts and music

Usually accompanied by a swan (representing discernment) and peacock (representing beauty and grace)

Saraswati in Balinese Culture:
In Bali, Hari Saraswati is a sacred day dedicated to the goddess Saraswati, celebrated every 210 days according to the Balinese Pawukon calendar. On this day:

People give thanks for knowledge and wisdom
Books, manuscripts, and sacred scriptures are cleaned, blessed, and placed in offerings
Students, teachers, and scholars pray to Saraswati for guidance in learning
It's one of the most important spiritual celebrations in Balinese Hindu life, especially in schools and temples.
