What is Rama and Sita?
Rama and Sita are the central characters in the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana, one of the greatest and most important literary works in Hindu culture. Their story is a timeless tale of love, devotion, virtue, and the eternal battle between good and evil.

Who is Rama?
Rama is the prince of the kingdom of Ayodhya and the seventh avatar (incarnation) of the god Vishnu. He is known for his noble character, bravery, and sense of duty. Rama is considered the embodiment of dharma (righteousness) and an ideal son, husband, and king.

Who is Sita?
Sita is the wife of Rama and the incarnation of the goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu. She is celebrated for her beauty, loyalty, purity, and unwavering devotion to her husband. Sita represents the ideal woman and wife in Hindu tradition.

The Story of Rama and Sita:
In the Ramayana, Rama is exiled to the forest for 14 years, accompanied by Sita and his loyal brother Lakshmana. During their exile, Sita is abducted by the demon king Ravana, leading to an epic battle where Rama, with the help of the monkey god Hanuman and an army of allies, defeats Ravana and rescues Sita.

Their story highlights themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the triumph of good over evil, and is still retold in traditional dances, shadow puppet performances (wayang kulit), and temple ceremonies across Bali and other Hindu regions.
